COP30 Prayer Station
Welcome!
Thank you for visiting this space of prayer, reflection, and action.
July’s Theme: Natural Disasters
This month we are invited to pause, reflect on, and pray for communities impacted by hurricanes, droughts, floods, and wildfires; for people forced to leave their homes due to climate-related disasters; and for resilience in rebuilding lives and infrastructure.
Why This Matters
Climate change is making natural disasters more frequent and more intense. Rising temperatures contribute to longer droughts, more extreme storms, and more regular wildfires. For many, this means loss of homes, crops, livelihoods - or even lives.
Some communities bear the brunt again and again. Others are displaced permanently, forced to leave their land and start over elsewhere.
We believe God cares deeply about those who suffer. Scripture shows a God who weeps with those who weep, who brings comfort, and who rebuilds what has been broken. In prayer, we stand in solidarity with those facing disaster, and we ask God to move through compassion, resilience, justice, and mercy.
How You Can Pray
Pray for protection - Ask God to protect those living in areas vulnerable to floods, fires, droughts, and storms, and pray for early warning systems, emergency responders, and safe infrastructure.
Pray for comfort - Ask God’s comfort, healing and peace for those grieving loss, displacement, or destruction. Pray for churches, neighbours, and local organisations offering care and shelter.
Pray for the resilience - Pray that communities would have the strength and resources to rebuild, and that long-term solutions would be funded and prioritised.
At our prayer station you’ll find interactive ways to engage with this theme. We invite you to join us in praying for the Church’s responsibility, and for our individual responsibility, to respond to God’s call to care for Creation.
